Coming from the #1 childcare enrichment provider in the world…
Everyone knows that screen time can be a problem, right?
Such a problem that sometimes it goes a little like this:
Your child asks for your phone, you give it to them for a bit, later when you’re ready you ask to have it back, they fight you on it, and it becomes a WHOLE THING.
We understand the struggles of trying to reduce screen time!
Which is why we’re writing this article.
Because limiting your children’s screen time can be difficult as a parent, but it can also have many benefits for your children.
It can help them:
Retain information better
Develop faster
Grow stronger
Be more present
Show better academic ability
Have more control over executive function
And much more
So we wanted to help make it easier on the nice families trying to get by with some knowledge that might brighten your day. ☀️
5 Fun Tips to Help Your Little Ones Reduce Screen Time:

1. Set Screen Time Limits
Make clear and consistent rules for how much time can be spent on screens each day. Use timers or fun apps to keep track and set healthy boundaries!
2. Encourage Active Play
Swap screen time with fun physical activities like outdoor games, sports, walking, or dancing! Get those little feet moving and let them have a blast! If they’re distracted with other activities, they won’t think about electronics as much!
3. Create Screen-Free Zones
This one’s not one you’d typically think about, but it can be effective and makes for some nice family bonding time!
Make certain areas of your home, like the kitchen table or bedrooms, screen-free to encourage more face to face time and reduce distractions!
4. Set Tech-Free Times
Have special tech-free moments such as during meals, before bedtime, or during family activities, where everyone puts away their devices and enjoys time together!
Even better, do this every day and you create a tech-free habit that gives you as a parent more time with your children and gives both of you the mental energy to be present. 😊
5. Be a Positive Role Model
Kids look up to us! Reduce your own screen time and show them how fun it is to read, craft, or explore the great outdoors instead!
When you show them what it’s like, they’ll copy.
That creates for a great environment to learn and develop as a child. We understand that parenting can be difficult. But if all you take from this is even just a single tip, that’s completely okay.
Go at your own pace. Improve over time. And just be a good parent to your children.
You’re doing a great job! 😁
